The Pokemon Sun and Moon demo has now been released for Nintendo 3DS – and has been immediately datamined for the upcoming games’ full Pokedex size.
Everything that follows could be considered a spoiler for Pokemon Sun and Moon – if you want to go into the games fresh, I suggest leaving this page now.
Datamining suggests that there will be 800 Pokemon in the Sun and Moon Pokedex, and has revealed monster and item sprites, new moves and abilities.
While not every sprite is included in the demo, it appears that we now know that all Alolan form Pokemon will come from the original 151, there will be 8 of the mysterious Ultra Beasts (which continue to appear to be separate from regular Pokemon) and that the game’s Legendaries will have pre-evolutions.
Also found were the final evolutions for each of Sun and Moon’s starters, as well as Shinies (Pokemon in rare colour combinations) for the starters.
Youtuber Kaphotics is currently meticulously detailing everything found through datamining so far – you can watch the first of several videos below (if it hasn’t been taken down by Nintendo, that is):
Why so much unused and supposedly secret detail was included in the game’s demo is unknown.
Pokemon Sun and Moon will arrive for 3DS on November 18 in the US and November 23 in the UK.
