More Pokemon, trading, Pokemon Centers, and PokeStop customization are all being explored for Pokemon Go, Niantic’s John Hanke revealed at the San Diego Comic-Con Pokemon Go panel.
Hanke said right now there’s a certain set of Pokemon available, but that over the coming months and years we may see Pokemon from beyond the first generation in Pokemon Go.
Trading is also in development, though Hanke said that it’s not ready nor does Niantic have a planned release date for the feature.
“I’m sorry, I don’t have a date for you [for trading,]” Hanke said. “We’re working really hard to keep the servers up and running… It’s at the top of our priority list.”
While adding Pokemon Centers is more of an idea right now, Hanke said that Niantic is working on PokeStop customization so that players can build up an area and use items to change PokeStop functionality.
Pokemon Go set records for iTunes launch week downloads, stock market turnover, and having the first video game panel in Hall H at SDCC. For more on Pokemon Go, be sure to check out IGN’s Pokemon Go wiki.
