As you approach the end of the game, you might not realize it, but a side quest opens up that can provide your characters with powerful new skills. These new Spritnite require you to go on a sidequest for each character, some of which are short, others involving quite a bit more work.
In order to even begin this side quest, you must be at the very end of the game. After killing the Time Judge, a bridge will appear. Don’t cross it, and instead go right to find a portal.
It leads all the way back outside so you can access your airship. Now you will need to fly around, completing a sidequest for each of your party members in order to obtain their final Spritnites.
With Endir in your party, head to Nive Harbor. Just after entering, speak to the first person you come across. A conversation will play out as Endir receives a letter. It will have three destinations listed.
First, head to Serendale. This is the destroyed city where you first met Nidr. In the top right corner of this area is a stone altar. Get to it and a cutscene will play out.
Next, head to Morbrise Mountains. Walk through the area until you find the Stone Altar, and another cutscene will play out.
Lastly, head to Hymncott Forest. It’s likely you’ve never been there before, as it’s a side area. To locate it, head for the bottom right corner of the map. Alternatively, you can head due East from Serendale, as this path will almost directly collide with Hymncott Forest. This time, you will have to battle through several mini-boss creatures to reach the Stone Altar. Although not tough, the fights can last a long time, so be prepared to have healers in your party.
After this, you will need to head to Craigholm Island. It’s another side area, along the bottom of the map. Make sure you Save your game before entering the house, as there will be a tough boss fight ahead. It’s a 1v1, with Endir fighting against his teacher. Before going into this fight, we highly suggest you give Endir the following Spritnite.
- Returner – This will give Endir MP anytime he takes damage.
- Radiance – Use this anytime you have Momentum, as it does tremendous damage.
- Aura – A great spell for Endir as it allows him to heal.
- Iron Vow – Boosts physical defense.
- Avenger – Deals damage to the enemy anytime you get hit.
With this combination of Spritnite, you can tank your way through the fight while the boss kills himself from hitting you. Anytime Momentum is charged, you should use Radiance, as it will deal several hundred damage to him. After the fight, you will receive Genesis, the Legendary Spritnite for Endir.
For Setsuna, you will need to have her in your party and return to Nive Village. Once you walk into the village, enter the first house on your left and speak to the red haired man. This is her father, and will trigger a conversation.
After a very lengthy cutscene, head out of the village and go North-East to Dazzshire Woods. Walk forward then left all the way. A cutscene will trigger and a hidden path is revealed. Walk in here and go North to trigger another cutscene, that ultimately leads to you finding the Holy Light Spritnite.
Caution: There is a mini-boss in this area if you head South. He is quite strong, so avoid going South unless you’re looking for a tough fight!
To start, have Aeterna in your party then head to Tenderville. Enter the town and walk straight. The first house you bump into, enter it and speak with the man. After a lengthy conversation, you will need to go to an island.
Head for the Island of Misfits, it’s in the lower left corner of the map. It’s likely you haven’t been there before, as it’s an optional side area. Once you find the island, land there and walk into the city called the Nameless Village.
Inside the city, enter the house on the left and speak with the man here. After, leave the house to trigger another conversation. Next, head to the top part of town where the lookout tower is. Return to the old man in the house after this, then proceed to try and leave the village. The monster will stop you, but will die. Again, report back to the old man.
Finally, head back to Tenderville and speak with the person you started the quest with. Doing so will wrap up the quest and obtain you the Gearadia Spritnite.
With Julienne in your party, head for her hometown of Royburg. Go to the center of town and speak with her second in command, Cornelius. They will have a conversation about an old story passed through the generations.
After the conversation, head to the Last Lands. Enter the frozen town, and turn right and go up to the second house you come across. As you approach the door, a cutscene will trigger as you learn the name of the Blacksmith from the story.
With that, head to the Archimell Ruins. This is in the lower left area of the main continent. Head through the ruins until you reach the second zone. Turn East when you can, then South and East again to find a portal with a red switch. You can now activate it, and it will lead to a boss fight.
This boss, Grinche, is one of the easier bosses among these side quests. He hits hard, but slowly and almost always does single-target damage. Have one dedicated healer in your group, while the other 2 focus on damaging the boss. Once dead, you will obtain the Eclipse Spritnite.
To begin Nidr’s quest, put him in your party then head to Purikka Village. Go into the house in the top right corner of town, where the village protector lives. She was also the former mentor of Nidr and will set you off on a quest.
After speaking with her, she tells you to find someone at the Forgotten Shore. Before going there, make sure to Save! This is just South of town, a little beyond Serendale. Enter the Forgotten Shore and head all the way down to find someone. Speak to them and it will soon enough lead to a 1v1 fight between Nidr and his mentor. Before beginning the fight, do the following:
- Equip Nidr with the highest defense weapon you have. Even if it’s just a few points higher than another, it’s worth it.
- Buy up at least 30 Hi Potions. If you are below level 40, we suggest getting 40 to be safe.
- Use the following Spritnite,
- Avenger – This will return damage, allowing you to tank your way through the fight.
- Iron Vow – Increases Physical Defense, which is the primary damage type for this fight.
- Stone Shield – This is Mandatory. The boss will try to turn you to Stone several times. Without this, you will lose the fight with almost 100% certainty.
- Final Comeback & Combat Instinct – These boost damage, so when combined, you will always be hitting for the highest amount.
- Lifeforce Logic – Boosts max HP by quite a bit.
The strategy for this fight is to tank through it, with a focus on surviving, not dealing damage. The boss, Freyja, attacks faster than you, so it’s often in your interest to hold off on using your turn until after she has gone, so you can pop a potion. So long as you have Avenger, she will be dealing 30+ damage to herself every turn. Combine that with the attacks you occasionally will get in, and you can slowly, but surely win the fight.
Make sure to never let your health fall below 350, as any lower and you risk being killed. Also, we suggest you have a max health of at least 600 for this, but ideally you will be at 700 and above.
To begin Kir’s sidequest, have him in your party and head to Hiddbury. Enter the central tent and a conversation will trigger, as the village leader discusses some new travellers who have arrived.
After this, head to the Spritnite Pillar that’s in the North of the village. When you arrive, another conversation will play out as you speak to the three travelling Rare Bloods. Once this ends, head back to the main tent in town. There will be another long conversation, and ultimately you will need to head back to the Spritnite Pillar. Before doing so, make sure to save your game.
Head back to the Spritnite Pillar, and the three women will jump the party and attack. Each one has unique skills, so be mindful of what they can do. Tronne for instance, is immune to most magic, while Syg is the healer of the group and Quotra is the melee character but also the weakest to magic. Power your way through the fight and you will eventually be rewarded with the Doom Spritnite and the Darkmoon sword for Endir.
For Fides’ sidequest, have him in your party and head for the town of Gatherington. Enter the first house you come across, and speak to the man in the hooded coat.
Speak to him and you will learn about a powerful Spritnite that was stolen. After the conversation, exit the building and another brief cutscene will occur. After this one, leave the town through the North exit, and enter the Fridged Caves which is just a few steps away.
Walk through the cave until you reach the area where you fought the boss here originally. Make sure to use the Savepoint as you walk past it! After a conversation with the monster boy, you will be dragged into a fight with a dragon. This can be a tough fight, so before going in consider preparing yourself with the following:
- Spritnite on all characters to boost max health.
- A character with an AoE heal, like Aura on Endir.
- A few megalixers.
The fight won’t be very hard at first, however once the dragon gets low on health, it will begin spamming a move called Dragnarok. This will hit for around 200 damage, and hits all characters. At this point, it will be imperative that you have one person dedicated to healing, while the other two party members strictly deal damage.
After beating the dragon, you will receive the Dragnarok Spritnite.
